Prior to founding Heartland Dental in 1997 and introducing dentists across the country to the highest quality non-clinical administrative support, Dr. Rick Workman practiced dentistry for nearly 20 years. Realizing there had to be a better way to balance the clinical and business sides of the field, he assembled a team that would grow to provide support to more than 1,400 offices nationwide. Today, Dr. Workman serves as the company’s Executive Chairman. An advocate for professional development, he devotes time to providing leadership advice through various speaking engagements. Dr. Workman is a graduate of the SIU School of Dental Medicine.

An integral member of the Heartland Dental family since its infancy, Patrick Bauer brings more than 26 years in dental and healthcare operations management to the company. As President and Chief Executive Officer, he is responsible for the oversight and management of all operations and day-to-day functions of Heartland Dental. Bauer possesses a passion for promoting both personal and professional growth that stretches beyond his daily duties. In his spare time, he is a certified instructor for the Advanced Achievement Leadership program with Dr. Gerald Bell at the University of North Carolina. Pat is a graduate of Concordia College.

Dr. Nazarian utilizes his extensive training and experience to treat even the most challenging dental situations. He has been delivering cosmetic, implant, and functional solutions to patients for over 25 years. His commitment to “doing it right” and ability to “handle just about anything” has won him the admiration of patients and other doctors. A big bonus is that Dr. Nazarian uses his expertise to prevent bigger problems from ever happening.

Dr. Nazarian graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and completed an AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) residency from the US Navy in San Diego, California.

In addition, he completed advanced training in dental implants and grafting from the world-renowned Misch International Implant Institute.
